Dan Blazer plays lead guitar and sings with Lake Effect.  He was born and raised in the southside of Columbus.  He is a graduate of South High School, The Ohio State University and Wright State University.  Dan's primary academic background is computer science and mathematics where, in industry, he was responsible for large scale software development, quality assurance and process improvement.  Dan started to play guitar when he was 10 years old and played in The Emeralds during the mid to late sixties. His influences include Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix and George Harrison.  Dan has opened for such bands as The Doors, Kenny Rodgers and Paul Revere and the Raiders.

Alex Dunkley is Lake Effect's soundman.  He is highly experienced and frequently gets consulted by national touring acts to help them with their sound system.  He was the soundman for Maroon Five for over 3 years.

Ernie Sparks plays the drums for the band Lake Effect.  Ernie is a graduate of The Ohio State University.  Ernie owns and operates "Ernie's Pharmacy" in London, OH and is currenlty a trustee for Summerford Township.  He frequently plays drums in many of the shows that are performed in Madison County.  

Larry Daniel is Lake Effect’s bass player who also sings.  His musical career started professionally in the 70’s when he performed in "Timberwolf," one of the house bands, at Zacharias Red Eye Saloon and Ruby Tuesdays on the OSU campus.  This was followed by a few years as the bass player in "A Likely Story," a premiere progressive bluegrass band in Columbus Ohio in the late 70’s. Occasionally, Vince Gill would sit in with the band while he was in the band Pure Prairie League .  A graduate of The Ohio State University, Larry took a break in his musical journey while pursuing a professional career at Red Roof Inns as SVP of Reservation Services. 

"Lake Effect" is a "high-energy" classic rock band that plays primarily 60's to 80's rock, classic country and rnodern rock/pop songs.  They hail from the Choctaw Lake/London OH area (thus the name Lake Effect).


Clayton Burke is Lake Effect's lead singer/front man and plays rythmn guiter.  Clayton served his country by joining the Army.  While he was in the  Army he joined, and ultimately became the leader of the 82nd Airborne Chorus.  In support of this role he has sung the national anthem for multiple NBA and NFL games.  Clayton has shared the stage with national acts such as Lee Greenwood and James Taylor.

Matt Rees

Matt Rees, who recently joined Lake Effect, will primarily play keyboards and sing.  He will also play bass when Larry is out of town.  Matt has written over 100 songs and, in his lifetime, has performed over 1,500 live shows as a professional musician across the US and some internationally.  Matt has performed with bands at the Alrosa Villa, the Newport, Stache's, Skully's, the Columbus Covention Center, National Veterans Memorial, Germain Amphitheater and Valley Dale.  He has performed at shows with the following acts: Wallflowers, Counting Crows, Sting, The Who and Dave Chappelle.


The band is currently a five-piece band and has been together for about 3 years.  Collectively, the members of the band possess over 125 years of musical experience.  Members of the band have shared the stage with national recording acts such as The Doors, Bret Michaels, Kenny Rodgers, Little Anthony, Lee Greenwood, James Taylor and Paul Revere & the Raiders.
